Position SummaryThe position of Mechanical Maintenance Technician II is responsible for : Performing preventative maintenance, customer request, and corrective mechanical maintenance work orders in support of a biologics manufacturing facility.

Performing mechanical maintenance work on agitators, pumps, mechanical seals, motors, heat exchangers, automated and manual valves, piping systems, vessels, and other manufacturing and utility system equipment as well as minor fabrication work.

Supporting commercial manufacturing through participation on 24x7 maintenance coverage model (12-hour night shift - 6pm-6am (48 hours one week, followed by 36 hours the next)).

Maintaining assigned area of ownership within the facility to support inspection readiness and general facility upkeep for support of commercial manufacturing.

Operating through electronic maintenance work order management system, with all documentation of work performed captured electronically.

Operating within regulatory governed facility regarding documentation management, training compliance, deviation management, procedure adherence, and corrective / preventative action implementation.

Cross-training to support integrated mechanical maintenance, critical utilities, and instrumentation team.QualificationsPrior evidence of successful participation on work teams where combined contribution, collaboration, and results were expected.

Demonstrated ability with common computer tools such as word processing, spreadsheet and web-based applications.Work experience where attention to detail and personal accountability were critical to success.

Demonstrates good interpersonal skills, customer focus, and professionalism.Self-motivated with strong work ethic and continuous improvement mindset.

Demonstrates strong safety mindset with emphasis on pre-task planning, safety procedure and permit adherence, and personal accountability for safety.

Computer literate in Maximo or similar computer-based maintenance program desirable.Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings such as Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID's), mechanical and electrical schematics.

Education & ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalent trade school diploma required1+ years experience in mechanical trade where knowledge, principles and practices were applied.

Experience with maintenance on centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, agitators, motors, gearboxes, and heat exchangers desirable.

Ability to weld stainless steel through TIG welding desirable.Physical Demands / Work EnvironmentThis position may require the employee to work in areas where chemical, biologic, and environmental risks are present.

This position is located a medium scale manufacturing facility with classified areas requiring appropriate gowning and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, climbing and reaching is required.Requires infrequent unassisted lifting (not to exceed 50 lbs).

This position is a team-based position that requires shift work.Shift Differential : 15%Target Bonus : 5%New York Pay Range$22.
