Job Description
The Prior Authorization Team is hiring Pharmacy Technicians across time zones for a 100% remote opportunity, with a preference for candidates in Mountain Time.
These technicians will review Prior Authorizations for determination for a department that is part of a large healthcare insurance company.
Responsibilities include approving or denying authorizations and forwarding some to pharmacists for final review. You will handle all health plans and medication types.
This role involves working entirely on the computer with little to no phone work. Duties include processing prescription exceptions, resolving claim rejects, conducting member and physician outreach, entering member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system, and researching and resolving rejected insurance billing issues.
Escalate prescription-related questions to a pharmacist for interpretation or direction, and assist with inbound and outbound patient or physician calls.

Work Site
This is a fully remote position.
Work Environment
This is a professional remote environment. You will work on multiple screens and within multiple systems. A strong WiFi connection and a dedicated office space with a closed door are required.
Monitoring will be in place, and extended idle periods could result in termination. The shift is Monday-Friday, 8am-7pm in your time zone, with rotating weekends every 4-6 weeks and potential holiday work.
Training will be conducted from 10am-6 : 30pm EST, after which you will transition to your regular shift. You must have WiFi, a workspace, and a smartphone.
Equipment such as a computer, monitor, and headset will be provided.
