We are hiring a Material Handler for our Busch Drive location in Jacksonville. Material Handlers are responsible for supporting production and repair schedules to ensure appropriate material accountability.

Duties performed will involve clerical and physical tasks for shipment or receipt of goods; packaging and preparing documentation such as commercial and military pack slips, bill of ladings and any other shipping documentation required.

Position Overview : Provide plant support for shipping, receiving, physical movement of materials to the point of use and return to stock, inventory control, warehousing and hazmat / waste handling.

Coordinates a cost-effective means to deliver products and materials to either domestic or international customers based on promised delivery dates.

What You Will Do :

  • Provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Receive, store, and issue / return materials in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Record all transactions on appropriate log and / or post to the inventory control system. Perform work cell material reconciliations and cycle counts as directed by the Warehouse Lead or Materials Manager.
  • Pick and prepare items for shipment. Package and mark shipments in accordance with specifications and / or work instructions (includes hazardous material shipments).
  • Stage material at factory work stations per schedule, and provide for internal delivery of receipts as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area through sound housekeeping and 5S practices. Organize and prioritize assigned work for maximum efficiency, which permits on time task completion.
  • Load / unload deliveries using power forklift trucks, hand trucks, overhead cranes, or by hand as required in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Notify and coordinate with other warehouse personnel the need to prepare products or materials for shipment to meet customer orders.
  • Provide quotes of freight pricing and availability to Engineering, Marketing or other departments as needed. Maintain / scan shipping documents, logs, etc.
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts, participate in lean events, and in pursuit of ACE certifications for the site.
  • Update customer service representative(s) as to the status of shipments, returns, etc. Expedite shipments when necessary and keeping in mind the balance needed to meet customer demands at a reasonable cost for the circumstances.

Ensue proper billing of freight as directed in shipping comments.

  • Provide the proper documentation needed to ship items either domestically or internationally.
  • Obtain working knowledge of shipping standards in order to comply with DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations for shipments by air, sea, or land.
  • Observe and comply with all business unit safety policies.
  • Complete additional projects as required.

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent is required, in absence of a diploma 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program / contract.
  • Must live in the Jacksonville, FL area as no relocation is provided for this role.
  • Must be willing to obtain certification to operate a powered industrial vehicle.
  • Will be required to complete Hazardous Material Shipping / Handling IATA / DOT Certification and annual continuing education to maintain certification.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift, various other material handling equipment, computer, scanner other office equipment.

Working Environment :

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds. Moderate, involving some relatively heavy physical demands.
  • Some office work and access to the Internet. Must adhere to company policies regarding Internet usage. Will utilize SAP on a daily basis.

Develop / maintain working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.

The salary range for this role is 36,000 USD - 72,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
