You will work tightly with our clients and the Driven Insights accounting & finance team. Manage day-to-day finance operations as detailed herein for Driven Insights' clients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as lead accountant for client businesses and oversee client team to ensure client is receiving value and insights from their DI Finance and Accounting function.
  • Ownership of client accounting process to generate insightful financial reporting; including managing revenue cycle (order to cash), oversee expense management, and ensuring payroll is recorded with department level visibility.
  • Responsible for monthly financial close, KPI (key performance indicators) measurement & management / board reporting.
  • Lead all aspects of monthly client meetings, provide compelling insights for client business owners, and coach client management on value of metrics usage and management of their department.
  • Monitor client maturity and company goals to ensure our services remain relevant and we are leading the management team to achieve their goals.
  • Oversee compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Own sales tax, covenant calculations & sales commissions calculations.
  • Own, evolve internal client accounting processes to promote efficiency, ensure data accuracy.
  • Manage & leverage accounting technology, such as QuickBooks, BILL, Avalara, Divvy, Qvinci and business intelligence / subscription billing tools such as Maxio.
  • Lead & manage cash flow, budget & scenario planning.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial and metric data (Business Intelligence System & QuickBooks) in a way that client feels like DI data is the single source of truth for the organization.
  • Meaningfully contribute to or lead strategic projects (e.g. : due diligence, fundraising requests, financial analysis, software, and process improvements that scale with increased transaction volume, scenario modeling).
  • Handle, as necessary, coaching client sales leadership on contract negotiations and compensation planning, client vendor and bank relationships, facilitation of purchase requisition and expense approval processes.
  • Support the growth of other team members via management of growth as Team Lead, as assigned.
  • Other duties that may arise through the normal course of business

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience successfully revamping accounting, finance and operational processes and technologies.
  • Strong QuickBooks Online experience required. Xero, Intacct & NetSuite are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of KPIs with track record of using to make quick, informed decisions.
  • Exceptionally strong Google Sheet / Microsoft Excel GAAP-compliant financial modeling skills.
  • Firm grasp on sales tax liability management, including usage of management tools like Avalara.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making & project management skills.
  • Willing to work at a high level of intensity and fast pace to support the needs of rapidly growing businesses.
  • Flexible and able to handle multiple projects at one time while maintaining incredible attention to detail.
  • Maintain a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
  • Ability to use good judgement and keep client and Driven Insights information confidential.
  • Deliver consistent excellent customer service to internal / external customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting.
  • Ability to effectively research and compile data from financial reporting systems, databases, spreadsheets, and other data sources.
  • Ability to manage and balance multiple priorities and urgent requests effectively, with the ability to quickly adapt for changing business needs.
  • Excellent written / verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passionate, energetic, approachable with a positive, low-ego, can-do demeanor.
  • Confidence in messaging, training, collecting, and enforcing policy compliance throughout all levels of the organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience as lead accountant in rapidly growing firm(s)
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Masters degree in accounting, MBA, and / or CPA license preferred
  • 10 years of experience as a Controller to Director of Finance level
