Job Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Operations and Finance directs and oversees multiple areas within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine's Research Business Office (RBO).

This position reports directly to the Director, Fiscal Operations and provides direct support of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine's morgue and core activities and reconciliation, accounting, and management of non-sponsored accounts, including but not limited to endowments, gifts, SOMD, ADF, etc.

This position is also responsible for and provides oversight of assets, compensation and payroll activities, Concur, FCOI compliance, all purchasing activities, regular financial reporting for non-sponsored projects, reconciliation of faculty commitments, assisting in preparation of annual budgets due to the School, department invoicing, and effort reporting process.

The Associate Director will oversee non-sponsored project personnel, ensuring staff compliance and providing supervision and development.

The incumbent will provide recommendations for policy / procedure updates to ensure compliance with department / PSOM / University guidelines and to streamline processes within the RBO and department.

Associate Director E - In addition to the responsibilities above, the Associate Director E will support and facilitate decision-making in key areas of financial management and strategic planning within the RBO.

The Associate Director E will directly support the Director, Fiscal Operations with planning efforts that span a wide range of initiatives.

Associate Director D

Bachelor of Science and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Associate Director E

Master of Science and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
