A Snapshot of Your Day
This role will be based at our new Siemens Energy Transformers Manufacturing Center Factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
The facility is planned to be built by early 2026 for production commencement . As a Buyer, you are actively involved in supporting the quotations, place purchase orders, tracking of the materials and manage invoices needed for the Charlotte transformer plant.
How You'll make an Impact
Contributes to implementation and ensure usage of globally defined methods, processes, and systems to ensure high process efficiency and process compliance (e.
g. compliant Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process, Procurement guidelines, IT systems). Prepares and conducts negotiations to obtain the highest feasible savings.
- Seamlessly manage the placement of both direct and indirect purchase order.
- Execute standard, specialized, & complex activities within Procurement such as purchase order maintenance, expedite activity, inbound material discrepancy resolution, GR / IR resolution, blocked invoice resolution, overdue PO follow up, MD04 exception messages, and more.
- Intervention / Coordination between supplier and project execution for technical clarification (in case of any ambiguity).
- Resolve sophisticated delivery, quality, or other related problems with purchases and invoices.
- Updates project plans and purchasing systems through collaboration & negotiations with suppliers to develop alternative procurement models.
- Review and analyze requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and quality requirements and be responsible for cost savings based on your commodity
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience. Experience in buying machining, equipment, materials and services
- Must have experience in SAP system
- Profound experience managing vendors; extreme customer-focus, both internal & external, and a collaborative team player
- Has knowledge of Sending RFQ to potential suppliers for quotation keeping in view the updated approved supplier list Introducing new supplier where necessary
- Experience supporting internal external audits, ensuring compliance and process improvement, is a plus.
- Must be local or willing to relocate to Charlotte, NC
