Summary :
Performs high-quality ophthalmic procedures, focusing onpatient care and education.
Responsibilities :
- Meets expectations of the applicableOneCHRISTUS Competencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, orLeader of Leaders.
- Advancedunderstanding of ophthalmic anatomy is required, as well as theability to efficiently scribe for physicians.
- Promptly and professionally assisting the doctor in patient care,collecting patient history, and performing patienteducation.
- Performing technical workups toinclude visual acuity, lensometry, color vision, visual field tests(Humphrey and Goldman), manual keratometry, refraction, Amslers,muscle testing, topography, pupil exams, OCT, pachymetry, and otherspecial testing as directed by physician.
- Advanced technical workups in performing retinoscopy and A-Scans asdirected by physician.
- Follows physicianprotocol for A-Scans and fills in at Special Testing whenneeded.
Requirements :
- High School Diplomarequired.
- Graduate of accredited Visionprogram preferred.
- 1 year of experienceworking at an Ophthalmology clinic settingrequired.
- BLS required.
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from IJCAHPOrequired.
- Ophthalmic Scribe Certification(OSC) preferred.
