Your role : responsible for sustaining imageformation technology for SPECT.
In this role, you will contributeor lead efforts to support the technology needs for multimodal quantitativeSPECT to address current and future clinical needs, by
o using your skills in experimentalnuclear physics and imaging instrumentation by modeling and simulation of keycomponents of the detector technology to develop and test solutions and considering constraints from clinical andbusiness aspects.
- It is expected that you haveexperience in nuclear image formation experimentation and quantitativelyanalyze the data, and then skillfully use that information to improve thedesign in coordination with experts in the field.
- You will be working both with futuretechnology as well as with legacy and therefore you are willing to deep dive inexisting technology to maintain, adapt and improve, and also participate in thedevelopment of future solutions.
- You will be using both an experimental as wellas modeling and simulation-based approaches to troubleshoot or assesstechnologies.
- As you are working in a multi-disciplinaryteam with access to luminary researchers worldwide, and you should have astrong customer focus and passion to understand and address clinical needs inthis field.
- You should be comfortable to take on large andcomplex problems as an individual contributor or as part of a larger team.
- Your excellent communication skills andexpertise will also allow you to provide technical support to service andmarketing teams in addressing customer complaints and inquiries, and you willcollaborate with luminary clinical sites worldwide to test and validate the newtechnologies in a clinical setting.
Your expertise :
- Ph.D. in experimental nuclear physics and imaginginstrumentation. M.S. with at least 5years also considered.
- Desired areas of expertise
o Gamma ray detection instrumentation
o Simulation Packages : GEANT4 or similar
o Medical Imaging, in particular SPECT
o Image Quality
o Collimation up to 511keV
- Demonstrated ability for hands-on bench work in adetector lab
- Demonstrated strong data analysis skills
- Demonstrated strong ability to use state-of-the-artcomputing environment with standard software tools, programming languages,scripting, version control, and efficient operations within Windows and LinuxOS
- Ability to communicate with both scientists andnon-scientists is essential
- Demonstrated strong statistical dataanalysis skills and proficiency using Matlab, Python, C / C++ / C# on Windows,Linux / Unix platforms
- Willing to travel up to 20%
