Principal Responsibilities :
Weinstein JCC Community Engagement department provides innovative, creative, and inclusive cultural and educational programs, connecting the Jewish community to each other, Israel, and the broader Richmond community and contributing to a high-quality of life by supporting life-long learning and educational, physical and spiritual wellness.
Weinstein JCC seeks a passionate, strategic, creative and collaborative individual to plan, curate and implement an annual portfolio of high-quality cultural arts and Jewish engagement programs that will have a significant impact on the community.
The Community Engagement Manager will work with committees made up of both internal and external partners to identify needs and develop programs that meet those needs and support the Jewish mission of the Weinstein JCC.
Specific areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to, Arts + Ideas subscription series, Israeli and Jewish Film Festival, Global Day of Jewish Learning, Jewish and Israeli educational lectures and classes, and celebrational events around Jewish holidays and cultural traditions.
This is a full-time position requiring occasional evening and weekend hours for meetings and events.

Minimum Qualifications :
The essential functions included, but are not limited to the following :
Identify and evaluate talent and content to curate an annual portfolio of creative, compelling programs in the areas of cultural arts and Jewish and Israeli education, engagement and holiday commemoration.
such programs may include author talks, film presentations, speakers and lectures, performing and visual arts events and community-wide special events.
- Manage and oversee events from beginning to end including, but not limited to, creating event timelines, working with lay leaders, vendors, and talent and preparing content for marketing.
- Work closely with Marketing to develop strategies that engage our target audiences.
- Consult (as needed) with JCC staff from other departments in the planning and implementation of community-wide events around Jewish and Israeli holidays such as Chanukah, Purim and Yom Ha'atzmaut.
- Cultivate and implement strategies for the retention and recruitment of Arts + Ideas subscribers.
- Regularly evaluate programs to measure impact and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Identify opportunities to engage the Jewish community and create new programs to bridge the gaps.
- Foster relationships with members of the community and provide opportunities to volunteer.
- Demonstrate careful attention and adherence to the department's program budget.
- Help create an environment which attracts volunteer support and revenue growth.
- Partner with both local and Jewish organizations to deepen and broaden impact of our mission-based programs.
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Jewish and Israeli values, culture and traditions is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to build and maintain effective and collaborative work relationships.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and develop effective solutions to problems that arise.
- Superior customer service skills (friendly, respectful, patient)
- Computer literacy and comfortable working with different online platforms, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Outlook and Google drive.
- Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule tosupport evening and weekend events.
