Position Summary
The Director of Data Operations will oversee all aspects of the client's data operations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of the healthcare data assets.
This role will lead a team of data professionals and work closely with cross-functional teams onsite and in our captives overseas.
Location :
This is an onsite position in Dallas, TX, embedded in the ecosystem of our marquee client, a healthcare product company.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company's business objectives
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify data-driven opportunities for growth and innovation
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in healthcare data management and analytics
2. Data Governance and Quality
- Establish and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards
- Implement data quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of healthcare data
- Oversee data integration processes and ensure compliance with healthcare data regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
3. Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts, engineers, and scientists
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the data operations team
- Recruit and retain top talent in data-related roles
4. Data Architecture and Infrastructure
- Oversee the design and implementation of scalable data architecture to support the company's growth
- Collaborate with IT to ensure robust and secure data infrastructure
- Evaluate and implement new data technologies and tools as needed
5. Analytics and Reporting
- Drive the development of advanced analytics capabilities, including predictive and prescriptive models
- Oversee the creation of dashboards and reports for key stakeholders
- Ensure that data insights are effectively communicated to inform business decisions
6. Compliance and Security
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare data regulations and standards
- Implement and maintain data security measures to protect sensitive patient information
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams on data-related issues
7. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with product, engineering, and clinical teams to integrate data solutions into product offerings
- Work with sales and marketing teams to leverage data for market analysis and customer insights
- Collaborate with finance to ensure accurate data for financial reporting and forecasting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- 12+ years of experience in data management and analytics, with at least five years in a leadership role
- Extensive experience in healthcare data management and analytics
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and standards related to data (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH)
- Expertise in data warehousing, ETL processes, and business intelligence tools
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications in healthcare
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong project management and organizational abilities
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR)
- Certifications such as CHDA (Certified Health Data Analyst) or CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional)
