Join the GE Appliances team in a high-energy, production facility environment. Process Control Technician supports appliance manufacturing operations to provide operation and setup of equipment and machines in support of safety, quality, delivery, and meeting cost objectives for our Decatur operations.

This is an essential manufacturing role involving machine setup and troubleshooting to manufacturing and production equipment.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Under the direction of the area leader (supervisor) or manager, the process control technician will be responsible for processing, setup and troubleshooting of the machines and equipment in their assigned work area.

They are responsible for ensuring adherence to safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies, procedures and standards.

Essential Job Responsibilities :

Responsible for all processes, equipment, preventative maintenance, safety and housekeeping of the assigned work area and meeting established procedures and standards.

Organizes work for efficient operations, analyze problems, implements solutions and reports process and equipment problems to the area leader or manager.

Responsible for processing and troubleshooting of all machines and equipment in their area, training techniques of new employees, and assisting other areas in troubleshooting and processing as required.

Supports and adheres all established guidelines, regulations, polices, and procedures as required.

Supports affective scrap and cost reduction programs.

Performs a variety of activities requiring communication and support to other employees.

Must be able and capable to work any shift assigned and must be able to work overtime as required.

Should be able to perform other jobs in assigned work area in case of employee absence or additional requirements.

All other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Minimum Requirements :

  • One or more years of experience in machine setup, heavy machinery or machining operations preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Must have attention to detail and be able to work independently.
  • Ability to work with tight tolerances (+ / - .0005 - .002).
  • Must be capable of working around moving machines robots, machinery, forklifts, etc.
  • Requires mechanical aptitude and ability to understand basic mechanical concepts and relationships.
  • Available to work weekends or extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • You must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Must be able to successfully complete physical confirming satisfactory health for job and have the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without an accommodation, including, but not limited to : Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

with potential heavy lifting up to 75 lbs. Must be able to access required areas pertaining to job including, but not limited to : foam rooms, chemicals, high noise, and other areas of the plant.

Job may require the use of a respirator at times; therefore, candidates must complete an annual medical evaluation to safely wear a respirator.

Able to operate and troubleshoot the machinery, tools and equipment Must be capable of obtaining & maintaining Fork Truck certifications / licenses.

Exposure to equipment at elevated Temperatures. Must wear all required PPE including steel toed shoes & hearing protection.
