Summary :
- Provides timely and sensitive spiritual care to patients,families, associates, and physicians via individual and groupinteractions;
- systematically and intentionally gathers data toprovide ongoing spiritual assessment of patients or families anddevelops, implements, and documents spiritual plans of care;
- participates as a member of interprofessional teams, identifyingpatient / family needs and developing specialized spiritual careservices for specific areas of assignment;
- plans and facilitatesrituals and worship services as needed; collects relevant data toself-monitor quality and effectiveness of spiritual care, andserves as a teaching resource in formal and informal situationsabout spirituality, spiritual needs of patients and families, andthe connection between spirituality and health outcomes;
assistswith debriefing and support of associates after majorevents.
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - WestoverHills (CSRH-WH) is a 150-bed hospital serving the fastest growingarea of San Antonio.
Specialized care includes orthopedic andsurgical services, ICU, women’s services, a newborn nursery,comprehensive cardiovascular care from diagnostics to open heartsurgery, vascular lab, sleep center, emergency services, theCHRISTUS Weight Loss Institute, wound care, rehabilitation, andmore.
The campus also boasts an Outpatient Imaging Center and threemedical plazas, one of which houses our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa FamilyMedicine Residency Program and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family HealthCenter.
Requirements :
- MASTER'S DEGREE IN DIVINITY, THEOLOGY, PASTORALMINISTRY OR SPIRITUALITY REQUIRED (unless level of degree notrequired at time of chaplaincycertification)
- COMPLETION OF A MINIMUM OFFOUR UNITS OF CLINICAL PASTORAL EDUCATION
- MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR SUPERVISED MINISTRY IN ACLINICAL SETTING POSTCERTIFICATION
- EXPERIENCES WITHINSPECIALTY AREA(S), PRESENTATIONS TO OR WITH OTHER CLINICIANSPREFERRED
- CERTIFICATION BY APC, NACC, OR CPSPMUST BE ENDORSED BY LEADER OF THEIR FAITHCOMMUNITY
