About the job :
The Software Engineer will have the ability to work in all phases of project delivery from initial design, code development, application testing and delivery to the production environments.
We utilize ECL (Enterprise Control Language) & KEL (Knowledge Engineering Language), proprietary languages, the candidate should be open to learning these.
Java or C / C++ knowledge is helpful for picking this up.
You will be responsible for :
- Designing, coding and documenting automated test cases within a defined framework to ensure quality of our product.
- Under the guidance of senior-level engineers, successfully implementing development processes, coding best practices and code reviews.
- Operating in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Writing and reviewing portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of simple complexity.
- Resolving basic technical issues, as necessary.
- Keeping abreast of new technology developments.
- Completing simple bug fixes.
- Writing Unit tests and other dev tests.
- Learning the codebase and improving your coding skills.
- Maintaining flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances to meet the needs of the business.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Basic knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Basic knowledge of data manipulation languages and modeling principles.
- The candidate should be willing to learn ECL (Enterprise Control Language) & KEL (Knowledge Engineering Language).
- Knowledge of data storage subsystems.
- Basic knowledge of application development languages including but not limited to : Object Oriented Development, Java / J2EE, JavaScript, C / C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, Azure, Kubernetes, Cloud, and .Net.
- Knowledge of test-driven development.
- Knowledge of source-code-control and configuration management, GitLab / GitHub.
- Dedicated and self-motivated.
- Listens and follows directions accurately.
- Basic communication and organizational skills.
- Must be a team player and work well within, ability to collaborate with fellow workers.
- Problem analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution skills.
- You are not afraid to challenge the status quo when necessary, and at the same time respect the opinions presented by your team.
- Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.
- Able to multi-task and adapt quickly.
