Conductor is looking for an Assistant Controller to assist in preparing statements that follow all regulatory & accounting guidelines under the supervision of the Global Controller.
You will be responsible for a couple direct reports ensuring any weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual reporting objectives are met & information timely provided to the Global Controller.
You must be an organized professional with a great eye for detail, knowledge of core accounting principles & able to carry out tasks autonomously & collaboratively.
In this role you will keep all accounting & financial processes of the company up to standard & ensure accurate financial reporting & control.
What you'll do (Responsibilities) :
- Support & assist as needed with most aspects of accounting management (AR, AP, financial statement preparation, cash flow reporting, technical accounting, tax form review, & other ad-hoc reporting, etc.)
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls & policies to comply with legislation & established best practices
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain & monitor sales tax collection & filing requirements.
- Organize & lead preparation of monthly close journal entry process, including balance sheet account reconciliations & analysis of financials & supporting workpapers.
- Assist in the preparation for the annual external audit
- Assist in providing support to external tax team for annual state & federal tax returns
- Assist in international filing requirements
- Assist in delivering reports for management & external stakeholders
- Review the companys accounting information to identify & resolve inaccuracies
- Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes & maintain records
- Other ad-hoc requests
Who you are (Required Skills / Abilities) :
- BS in accounting, finance
- Minimum of 7 years of related accounting experience
- Experience managing a team
- Proven experience as assistant controller or similar position in the SaaS industry.
- Big 4 public accounting experience highly desirable
- Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) & regulations
- CPA desired
- Excellent knowledge of accounting & financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
- Understanding of data analysis & forecasting
- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) & accounting software tools - NetSuite, Airbase, or similar a plus.
- Well-organized with ability to prioritize
- Very good communication & interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail & problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage others
Compensation : Conductor maintains competitive, performance-based compensation programs.
The NYC base salary range for this role is currently $125,000 - $180,000. Actual base salary offered may vary within this range based on education, knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience, internal equity, & geographic location, among other factors.
The actual compensation, if offered a position, will be based on these factors.
Variable compensation : In addition to the base salary, this role is also eligible for a 10% corporate bonus.
