Our Austin headquarters has an incredible opportunity to join the team as an Operations Manager. Lone Star Ranch is a family owned & operated working ranch nestled just 15 minutes from downtown Austin, Texas.

Supported by a dedicated ranching team, Lone Star offers a perfect blend of Texas tradition and outdoor adventure. The ranch hosts a variety of events, including private rodeos, corporate gatherings, & more.
The Lone Star Austin team takes great pride in providing exceptional care to our horses, cattle, and other livestock. Our team is passionate about Keepin’ Austin Country through embodiment of western values to ensure transformative experiences for our visitors.
We are searching for an Operations Manager to join our team to streamline the ranch operations & elevate guest experiences through systematic approach to leadership and exceptional horsemanship.
The Operations Manager position will support operations and must be able to quickly pivot between priorities. The Operations Manager will lead a diverse team, including wranglers, concierge, event staff, and be supported by an Equine Specialist and a Property Maintenance Team.
This dynamic position requires a flexible, quick-thinking individual who excels in leadership, customer service, and problem-solving, with a passion for animal care.
Key Responsibilities :
Daily Operations Oversight :
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the ranch, ensuring smooth coordination of trail rides, activity scheduling, and corporate events calendar.
- Ensure all activities adhere to the highest safety and quality standards.
Management :
- Supervise and schedule a team of wranglers, concierge, and event staff.
- Work closely with the Equine Specialist who manages the health, feed schedules, and vet / farrier appointments for the herd.
- Collaborate with the Property Maintenance Team to ensure smooth feed operations, site upkeep, and land maintenance.
Customer Service :
- Serve as a key point of contact for guests, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and handling any guest concerns or inquiries promptly.
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients and event coordinators to drive and ensure high quality experiences.
Problem Solving & Adaptability :
- Be able to pivot quickly when unforeseen circumstances arise, such as weather conditions, staff shortages, or urgent maintenance needs.
- Handle unexpected challenges with a calm, solution-oriented approach.
Animal Care :
Ensure exceptional care routines of the ranch's 50+ horses, cattle, and other livestock in coordination with the Equine Specialist and Maintenance Team.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams.
- Excellent customer service, communication skills, and open to direction & mentorship from management.
- Exceptional horsemanship skills (or a strong desire to learn and be mentored in equine management)
- Ability to adapt quickly and remain calm under pressure.
- Problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to challenges.
- Must be local to Austin, TX area
Preferred Qualifications :
- Knowledge of ranch operations, including livestock care, western activities, and event coordination is a plus.
- Experience working in a ranch setting or similar outdoor environment.
- Familiarity with event planning or hospitality management.
