Consulting Director (Sustainability)

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong interest in strategy, branding, and consulting who is eager to take on wide-ranging responsibilities and who is motivated to excel within an entrepreneurial environment.

The candidate should aspire to be an advisor to business leaders and have a strong strategic brand sensibility, very strong analytical, research and presentation development skills (both written and spoken) and a highly proactive attitude.

This position will provide an ambitious, team player the opportunity to develop within a cutting-edge area of consulting.

What You’ll Do

• Managing the day-to-day project engagement internally and with the client, and actively keeping communications with clients.
• Analyzing consumer behaviors, brand strategies, and industry trends to identify growth opportunities.
• Conducting quantitative and qualitative competitor analyses.
• Developing brand strategies and positioning recommendations.
• Taking ownership of developing client deliverables and presentations with a strong visual aesthetic and strategic rigor.
• Participating in client interviews, work sessions, and presentations.
• Presenting key sections of the findings to clients.
• Distilling powerful insights from broad datasets and diverse sources, including desktop research.
• Managing junior team members as necessary for the successful running of project engagements.
• Actively participating in practice management, including training, recruiting, and mentorship.
• Helping with business development, by participating in developing new business proposals and pitches to new clients.

What You’ll Need

We are looking for a seasoned Consulting Director with 10+ years’ experience who has cracked big challenges for global brands.

Someone, who like us, sees sustainability as the next frontier in global brand marketing and who is committed to helping clients leverage sustainability for growth and thus accelerate their positive environmental and social impact.

The ideal candidate would have experience of :

• Interrogating Sustainability reports, materiality studies and ESG frameworks and have completed an academic course on sustainability.
• Helping Clients prioritize existing sustainability initiatives and commitments under an overarching sustainability strategy.

Then creating brand, marketing and communication strategies to support this ambition.

Brand consulting more generally, including brand strategy, architecture, market development and innovation, targeting and segmentation.

This person should be entrepreneurial and be well connected in the world of brand and sustainability, helping leadership to build the Sustainability Practice in North America.

They must be comfortable pioneering new thinking and be able to lead a team of strategists, some of whom may be new to sustainability.

They must have gravitas with senior clients and be a master storyteller and persuasive writer. They should exude enthusiasm and energy from hypothesis to POV to solution and must have the ability to bring client and creative teams over the finish line.

Pay Range$100,000 $230,000 USD
