Key Job Responsibilities :

Recruitment and Onboarding :

Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies.

Post job openings, screen applications, and coordinate interviews.

Manage the onboarding process for Pastoral Center employees and consult parishes on their specific onboarding processes.

Benefits and Compensation :

Support Benefits Administrator as needed with benefits and compensation programs, including, health, dental, vision, retirement plans, PTO, etc.

Respond to general benefits and compensation-related questions from employees and managers via our internal ticketing system, email, phone calls, benefits fairs, training days, etc.

Maintain benefits and compensation record keeping systems, run reports, and perform data cleanup as needed.

Compliance and Recordkeeping :

Be a user and reliable resource for our HRIS system supporting entities, schools and parishes.

Maintain HRIS systems by maintaining data integrity; identifying, researching, and analyzing problems; implementing improvements;

updating training manuals, user guides, and system tables, codes, and security profiles; researching data discrepancies.

Ensure compliance and be a sense-maker around federal, state, and Church employment laws and regulations.

Proactively identify opportunities to correlate compliance efforts with our Catholic culture.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.

Assist with the preparation and submission of required reports and documentation.

Maintain complete security and confidentiality of all company records, employee data, and sensitive information.

Ensure our work environment is free from any form of harassment. Report incidents immediately to supervisor or other appropriate channels.

Comply with Church, federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation;

enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

Performance Management :

Support the implementation of our annual Job Flourishing processes.

Assist supervisors with performance improvement plans and employee development initiatives.

Training and Development :

Identify training needs of AoD (Archdiocese of Denver) staff and parish business managers. Support the coordination of monthly Business Manager Formation Days.

Develop and deliver training materials for parish and AoD relating to HR and recruitment tasks.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.

Improve human resources job knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks;

benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.

Actively engaged in self-development by creating and following your own personal, professional, and spiritual growth plan.

Policy Development and Implementation :

Assist in the development and updating of HR policies and procedures.

Communicate policies and ensure understanding and compliance across the organization through established weekly and monthly communication channels

Provide guidance and interpretation of HR policies to employees and managers.

Oversee all governance and compliance with EEOC, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, and all Church, state, and federal required training.

HR Projects and Initiatives :

Completes special human resources projects as assigned by clarifying project objectives; setting timetables and schedules;

conducting research; developing and organizing information; resolving concerns; analyzing time and cost issues; preparing reports.

Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving HR processes and practices.

Support organizational development and change management efforts.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the HR department.

Qualifications & Benefits

Education / Experience :

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.

At least 3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist role.

SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred or a plan in place to become certified.

Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.

Competencies / Qualifications :

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred). Physical Requirements :

Office environment with occasional travel to parishes and schools within northern Colorado.

Ability to work flexible hours when necessary.

  • Generous Paid Time Off : 22 days starting (accrued) + 18 paid holidays (including the full week between Christmas and New Year's.
  • Pension Plan : Annual Contribution of 6% of salary to retirement plan
  • Parental Leave : 60 Calendar Days for mothers and 30 Calendar Days for fathers fully paid upon the birth / placement of a child (natural birth, adoption, foster-to-adopt).

Full parental leave can be used if employed 12 months or longer. Half (30 days for mothers / 15 days for fathers) can be used if employed 6 months to a year.
