Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and codes multi-specialty cases performed in the Downtown OR and Regional Medical Center OR by reviewing documentation and confirming coding is in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Identifies trends / problem in medical documentation and recommends possible solutions. Assists with billing and documentation in daily interaction with physicians regarding various inquiries relating to CPT and ICD-10 coding.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
  • One of the following : Certified Procedural Coder (CPC) or CCS Physician-based (CCS-P).
  • Five years of CPT and Diagnostic coding experience in a healthcare provider or a third party payer setting. Clinical knowledge preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
