Position at American First Finance What makes an AFF Compliance Analyst - Monitoring and Testing :
The Compliance Analyst will be responsible for the execution of second-line compliance monitoring and testing and risk identification to ensure compliance with state and federal consumer protection laws and regulatory requirements as well as the Companies policies and procedures.
This role will create and retain well-documented monitoring and test work papers and reports related to risks, root cause analysis, and potential corrective action.
The Compliance Analyst will effectively report monitoring and testing results to the business lines.

Roles and Responsibilities :
- Monitor, test, and report on the Bank’s adherence to its regulatory compliance policies, procedures, and controls across all product lines.
- Perform all testing phases of the compliance review process, to assure compliance with complex policies, processes, and associated federal and state consumer protection laws and regulations.
- Provide in-depth, objective, and accurate compliance analysis, workpapers, and documentation.
- Review processes and controls, identify risks, and effectively recommend risk-based improvements as needed in conjunction with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strong knowledge of consumer lending, credit, financing, and leasing compliance regulations (both State and federal), industry standards, and regulatory best practices.
- Collaborate with various levels across the business to build relationships and understand the business units and processes to resolve control weaknesses and identified risks.
- Effectively communicate the testing scope, approach, results, and actions to the business lines.
- Assist in requests for information from internal or external audit and regulatory compliance examinations.
- Support the Testing and Monitoring team with other tasks or projects as needed.

Qualifications :
- Minimum of 1 year of professional work experience in consumer protection regulatory compliance, internal audit, compliance testing, or risk management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Strong knowledge of applicable State and federal consumer compliance regulations and laws (e.g., TILA, FCRA, SCRA, MLA, TCPA, UDAAP)
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage projects effectively
- Ability to identify risk, investigate and identify root cause, and problem-solve
- Exceptional judgment, analytical skills, and keen attention to detail required
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate complex regulations to business partners
- Team player with the ability to balance competing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in writing SQL queries is a plus
