A law firm in Houston is seeking a Tax Controversy Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience in tax disputes, litigation, audits, and appeals.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience in federal income and estate / gift tax issues, along with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
A degree in accounting, CPA license, or LL.M. in Tax is strongly preferred, and admission to practice in at least one state (Georgia is a plus) is required.

Duties :
- Handle tax disputes, including controversies, litigation, audits, and appeals.
- Provide legal advice and representation to clients in federal income and estate / gift tax matters.
- Communicate with clients, government agencies, and opposing counsel.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on tax issues.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and correspondence.
- Represent clients in negotiations and hearings with tax authorities.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals on complex tax matters.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
Requirements :
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- 4+ years of experience in tax controversy.
- Practical experience with tax disputes and federal tax issues.
- Degree in accounting, CPA license, or LL.M. in Tax (strongly preferred).
- Excellent academic and employment credentials.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Admission to practice law in at least one state (Georgia is a plus).
Education :
