Job Description
- Safely, competently, and efficiently operate the Mine Control Room including digital monitoring of all underground mining tasks, personnel trackers, and overall communication on the mine site.
- Assist in cases of emergency and provide enough information to aid in the process. Mine control operators play a critical role in managing emergency situations by establishing robust communication to enhance safety, minimize risks, and ensure efficiency.
- Assist Underground Operation and Supervisors in managing all daily shift tasks, tracking of operators, and ensuring equipment availability through continued communication with maintenance.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with smart devices
- Proficient in Microsoft programs, primarily Excel and Word
- 1-5 years of experience in a hard rock mining environment
- Competent with radio software
Optional :
- Blue card certification
- Proficient in Deswik.OPS and Deswik.APS
- Previous experience working with mining fleet dispatch systems and corresponding radio networks is preferred
- Previous experience working with field-based radio networks is preferred
- Experience in underground mining operations

Physical Requirements :
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
- Must be able to work shift work with 12 hour shifts.
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
- Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
