Job Description :
Insight Global is looking for a Powertrain Design and Release Engineer to join one of our automotive clients in Dearborn, MI.
This team is responsible for the design and capability assessment of aftertreatment solutions. As a DRE in this role, you’d be responsible for developing and releasing exhaust aftertreatment solutions that meet worldwide tailpipe emissions regulations.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with technical specialists to define the best-in-class aftertreatment systems for gas and hybrid vehicles to meet worldwide emissions standards
- Define aftertreatment systems to align with program performance objectives and durability requirements
- Establish engineering specifications, component FMEA & DVP, identify and process system trade-offs to align with system boundary conditions
- Create and maintain catalyst prints, engineering specs, application summary sheets, cost assumptions, etc. for three-way catalysts, gas particulate filters, and new aftertreatment technologies
- Lead supplier meetings to improve manufacturing processes for function, cost, weight, and quality
- Develop and track hardware and calibration solutions that meet system functional and cost objectives
- Support evaluation of emerging aftertreatment technologies necessary to meet government emissions regulatory requirements
Requirements :
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Experience working in the Automotive industry
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Strong understanding of combustion engine process
- Strong calibration, controls, or exhaust systems knowledge
- Project management experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Compensation :
$41 / hr to $50 / hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
