Responsibilities

Team Rehabilitation is excited to offer a unique opportunity to collaborate with High School students in creating a work experience program.

This initiative allows our therapists and technicians to serve as mentors, educators, and guides to young students as they embark on their journey toward a career in healthcare, particularly in physical therapy.

The program will involve students in their Junior or Senior year, who will spend one to two days per week shadowing at one of our clinics.

Students have the flexibility to choose a clinic based on proximity to their residence or school, and they can opt for after-school hours.

The program is designed to span one full semester, during which students are required to accumulate hours of clinical experience.

Upon completion, they will receive half a credit on their transcript over the course of the school year. Please note that this internship is unpaid, and students are responsible for arranging their own transportation.

Following their time in the clinic, students will have the opportunity to apply for a technician position if they wish. With 60 clinics in the Metro-Detroit area, we are confident that we can find a suitable team for any interested student.

GOAL : Assist our technicians and therapists in delivering high-quality treatment.

  • Welcome and provide comfort to patients in preparation for physical therapy.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills.
  • Follow and observe the plan of care established for each patient by the therapist.
  • Learn about clinic equipment and ensure its safe and correct usage.
  • Assist in the application of modalities, such as heat / ice packs and electrical stimulation.
  • Maintain clean and organized treatment areas.
  • Adhere to all procedures, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications

Qualifications :

  • No specific education or prior experience is required.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Committed to fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment among patients.
