Job Summary
As a Prescription Data Entry Specialist at AmeriPharma, you will be responsible for efficiently and accurately transcribing prescription orders into our system.
This position plays a key role in ensuring that prescription data is entered correctly and in a timely manner, while also making informed decisions based on patient's prescription profiles regarding whether a prescription should be filled immediately or at a later date.
Job Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe prescription orders received from healthcare providers into our pharmacy system, ensuring all relevant information is captured correctly
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to minimize errors and ensure accurate data entry of prescription information, including medication names, dosages, and patient details
- Review patients prescription profiles to assess if there are any specific considerations or requirements that may impact the filling of the prescription.
Make informed decisions based on this assessment regarding whether the prescription should be filled immediately or scheduled for a later date
- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to prescription data entry, patient privacy, and medication handling
- Work closely with other pharmacy team members, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, to communicate any relevant information or concerns regarding prescription orders and patient profiles
- Ensure that prescription data entry tasks are completed efficiently and within designated timeframes to meet the needs of patients and healthcare providers
- Quality Assurance : Conduct regular quality checks to validate the accuracy of prescription data entry and identify any areas for improvement
- Maintain accurate records of prescription data entry activities, including any decisions made regarding the filling of prescriptions at a later date
- Perform NDC changes as requested
- Other Duties as assigned
Education / Experience Requiremen ts
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in pharmacy technology is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proven experience in prescription data entry or similar roles within a pharmacy or healthcare setting
- Human resources and / or compensation credentials or certification preferred
- Clear and active CA Pharmacy Technician License
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of prescription filling processes and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software and computer systems for data entry
- Experience in handling oncology, IG, and other biologic drugs
Schedule Details
- In-Person (Orange, CA)
- Monday-Friday 8 : 30am-5 : 00pm
