St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic School is hiring an elementary school teacher for the 2024 / 2025 School Year full-time, exempt.

Professional requirements :
- Meet professional teacher education requirements of the Diocese of Dallas.
- Have a valid Teacher’s certificate and a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, or an Elementary School Teaching Certification.
Job Description & Responsibilities :
Embraces the Gospel, provides a positive Christian role model for students through actions, words, and attitudes.
Under the direction of the school principal, the teacher implements by instruction, action, and example the school’s mission, philosophy, and vision of education, instructional goals, and objectives.
Provides a safe and orderly environment with clear discipline directives.
Collaborates with team and other colleagues in developing cross-curricular and engaging lesson plans.
Participates and engages in Love & Logic and Second Step Guidance and Discipline programs, prioritizing and implementing social and emotional learning.
Systematically prepares and implements instruction based on diocesan curriculum and including relevant technology to support and enhance instruction.
Differentiates instruction to learning styles and rigor.
Prepares lesson plans for classes and maintains written evidence of preparation based on clear objectives and follows guidelines for documentation.
Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, diocesan policy, or administrative regulations completing lesson plans, gradebooks, progress reports, and report cards.
Communicates expectations for students’ academic performance to parents and students. Provides systematic reporting to parents regarding student progress.
Parent / teacher conferences and team meetings.
Meets all requirements of the teacher contract and fulfills all requirements for professional development.
Abides by and enforces the procedures and directives in the Faculty Handbook, the Student / Parent Handbook, and the Handbook of Policies and Procedures for Elementary and Secondary Schools.
Carries out additional duties, directives and school / diocesan policies as requested, including serving on school committees.
