Position Overview
The Commercial Construction Estimator position is a very important role. Our estimators are responsible for seeking out new opportunities, estimating construction cost, creating competitive advantages and using a combination of skill and strategic trade partnerships to accurately budget the cost of construction projects.

Ideal candidates will have strong commercial construction estimating experience, a strong trade and vendor network, be a self-starter, team player and be motivated with a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete project budgets and detailed estimates, including detailed quantity take-off and pricing for self performed trades.
- Perform scope assessments and prepare and issue Scope of Work to bidders.
- Establish bidder list for each project and issue bid invitations.
- Distribute bid documents to subs.? Post bid documents in online Plan Room using SharePoint.
- Set up bid forms.
- Prepare preliminary schedule for bid purposes.
- Maintain record copy of bid documents.
- Prepare scope of work for each trade to be used in subcontracts.
- Prepare bid tabulation for each trade and recommendation for award.
- Conduct turn over meetings with Project Manager and Superintendent.
- Assist with Business Development proposals.
- Organize and prepare written proposals to clients including Letters of Interest, Qualification Statements, and Requests for Proposals.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field (Preferred).
- 5 -10 years in the lead role, estimating commercia new construction and renovations.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong technical and communication skills are critical
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Proficiency in construction estimation software and tools (Bluebeam, Plan Swift, RS Means).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of Procore, Microsoft Office (preferred)
