Key Responsibilities of the Plant Controller :
- Oversee all financial operations of the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Develop and maintain standard costing systems to accurately measure and report manufacturing costs.
- Monitor and analyze production costs, variances, and inventory valuation to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.
- Collaborate with plant management to develop and implement cost control measures and operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes for the plant.
- Conduct regular audits of financial transactions and processes to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Provide financial guidance and support to plant managers and other departments.
- Lead and mentor a team of 2 accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Required qualifications of the Plant Controller :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on costing and financial analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in larger ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
