What is the opportunity?

As the Director, US CIO Office Communications, you will provide executive communications support to RBC senior leaders and their businesses, with a focus on Consolidated US Operations (CUSO).

You will work closely with partners in all RBC US locations (NJ / NY / MN / GA) and Toronto to deliver a coordinated communications approach that supports the business' strategic tech priorities and regulatory obligations.

This includes leading internal communications and employee engagement activities, providing support related to issues management, and developing and executing strategic media plans and tactics.

The US CIO Office Communications Director will be a key contributor in collaborating with stakeholders from across the organization to create effective and consistent internal and external reporting materials.

What will you do?

  • Lead in creating, developing, and executing internal and external communications materials and plans for the US CIO Office, focused on the firm's Consolidated US Operations, serving as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and aligning with business goals and regulatory obligations.
  • Enhance and protect the reputation of the US CIO Office and RBC through innovative and differentiated internal and external communication and materials.
  • Work closely with colleagues in RBC US locations (NJ / NY / MN / GA) and Toronto to ensure an effective and coordinated communications approach across the CUSO.
  • Mitigate issues as they relate to our CUSO by developing communications strategies and statements (personnel, regulatory).
  • Run point on US CIO Office communications and announcements.
  • Keep up with industry trends and best practices in presentation design and corporate communication.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 8+ years of relevant corporate communications experience within the financial services or banking industry and have had regulatory communications exposure
  • Significant experience in creating and refining presentations and materials for senior executives, regulators and board meetings
  • Expert in Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience working with technology focused teams
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills

Nice-to-have

  • Media relations experience within financial / banking industry
  • Experience with digital communication, social media strategy, and online reputation management
  • Prior experience with JIRA or similar tools

  • The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $160,000 - $250,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status;
  • market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions;

health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
