Responsibilities vary by practice but may include :
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures and ensure all equipment is sterilized and organized
- Assist the dentist with various dental procedures, including fillings, extractions, and root canals
- Take and develop X-rays to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Perform basic dental procedures, including fluoride treatments and dental impressions
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide recommendations for oral health products
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date
- Manage inventory and order dental supplies as needed
- Schedule appointments and follow up with patients as necessary
- Follow infection control procedures and maintain a clean and sterile work environment
Ideal Qualifications :
- Completion of a dental assistant training program preferred
- Current dental assistant certification preferred
- Knowledge of dental procedures and practices
- Experience with dental software and digital radiography systems preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
