Job Summary :

Responsible for the direct financial and accounting support for the entire organization and reports to the company CFO. This includes but is not limited to : general accounting at month end, P&L balance sheet and Cash Flow reviews throughout the month and at month end / quarter end, integration activities, audit support, tax, and partnering closely with FP&A and the General Managers at the facilities.

Primary Responsibilities :

Below are the highest priority responsibilities performed in this position monthly.

  • Quarterly reporting packs
  • Monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
  • Maintenance of monthly Cash Flow statement
  • Month end closing Inter Company Revenue, Cost reconciliation
  • Monthly Sales & Use Tax Returns
  • Treasury Management - Administrative support across all locations
  • Integration of processes and systems
  • Direct management
  • Ability to collaborate closely and partner with finance peers in FP&A, Element's Corporate Accounting Team, and Collections
  • Drive Process Improvement across the company
  • Align the six labs to adhere to policies and procedures set forth by the London finance team
  • Support any M&A activities as they arise
  • Manage staff accountants on a daily basis

Required Education and Experience :

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to pass a drug test and background check
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA required
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in multi-site / location financial & accounting support
  • 5 years of experience as a Controller
  • Must have experience as a head controller for a stand-alone company

Knowledge and Skills :

  • Ability to read and interpret balance sheet and financial data, read, and respond to email communications, and effectively communicate to small and large groups.
  • Ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts, calculate required items for tax returns, as well as basic calculations required to analyze the business.
  • Possess solid P&L and general ledger account analysis skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to process and effectively manage multiple tasks / priorities without direct supervision. Effective leadership, prioritization skills, and the ability to influence and direct operations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of accounting and financial principles.
  • Demonstrated problem resolution skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel)
  • Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
  • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership skills that foster open upward and downward communication built on mutual respect.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, data and details furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs.
  • Ability to interface with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Must be a team player.

Requirements :

Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time; some overnight travel may be required.
