Overview :
Markley is New England’s largest and longest operating multi-tenant, mission-critical telecommunication, and data center with facilities in Boston and Lowell MA.
Markley Properties is looking to add a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to the team. As a key member of the Engineering Team, you will be evaluating, architecting and delivering solutions for both our internal IT organization, as well as for our expanding client services.
minimum in Boston office 3 days a week.
Please note, there will be no relocation package provided if you are not based in the Boston area already.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Manage projects to continuously extend and improve network infrastructure components to handle growth while maintaining and improving performance, security and stability
- Ensure the design, maintenance, and monitoring / troubleshooting of the network infrastructure is operational and meets business requirements
- Coordinate and drive daily work with other members of the Networking Team
- Develop and testing of implementation plans
- Analyze, isolate, and remediate issues and monitor networks to ensure security, availability, and performance
- Tier 3+ technical network support; leverage knowledge of network analysis and performance evaluation to provide support
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, and load balancers from multiple vendors
- Write and manage technical documentation, policies, and procedures
- Configure and monitor complex peering relationships
- Develop standard, processes, and procedures related to the global network
- Execute routine changes, provisioning services, and deployments
- Participate in planning and budget activities
- Vendor engagement and relationship management
- Occasionally communicate with customers to assist with their understanding, improve, and troubleshoot their issues accessing our solutions
- Participate in on-call rotation for 24x7 coverage of production infrastructure; respond as needed to actionable alerts
- Provide direction and training for other network engineers · Responsible for information security by appropriately preserving the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of Markley Group information assets in accordance with the company's information security program
Qualifications and Skills :
- Experience in designing and managing a Juniper-based networking environment
- Experience with designing and implementing OSPF and BGP in a complex environment
- Experience with Fortinet firewall management and operations
- A high degree of comfort with the VMware technology stack
- Strong working knowledge of common Operating Systems (Windows & Linux)
- Prior Experience working in an MSP environment preferred
- VXLan Knowledge preferred
- Working understanding of Ciena WDM technologies advantageous
- Basic scripting skills Python, powershell, bash, ansible desirable
