POSITION SUMMARY :
The Pharmacist Clinical Informatics is responsible for building and maintaining the Epic Willow application and other systems related to medication management.
The position conducts regular day-to-day communications with Epic’s support team, reviews the software and analyzes operational and clinical workflows.
This position is responsible for developing and documenting the internal procedures used in conjunction with Epic applications.
The pharmacist will provide medication therapy management services in collaboration with providers to assure that drug therapy is safe, effective, efficient and cost-effective.
The pharmacist will provide training and education to Pharmacy Residents and PharmD students and will ensure that patient care is maintained through compliance with the department's policies, rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Pharmacy, and other applicable regulatory bodies.
EDUCATION / TRAINING :
Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy. Residency training in pharmacy practice, drug information, informatics or pharmacy administration or equivalent experience.
Must provide copy of diploma / degree for highest level of education obtained.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION :
Current licensure from State of Illinois or license eligible.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / ABILITIES :
Project management skills - ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintains issues lists, manage project plan.
Detail oriented to understand clinical or operational workflows and how Epic may be configured to meet these needs. Computer skills;
knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access desirable. Strong customer service skills. Strong organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work some nights and weekends. Availability for rotating on-call responsibility 24 / 7.
