We’re looking for a dedicated Central Access Specialist to join our team and play a crucial role in connecting individuals with vital integrated (medical and behavioral) health services.

This full-time position is located in Bloomington, IL and individual must be able sit for extended periods while managing calls and performing data entry.

Chestnut Health Systems is a leading provider of behavioral and primary health care services. Since 1973, Chestnut has grown to almost 800 committed, compassionate employees providing substance use, mental health, and primary care treatment to patients in Illinois and Missouri.

We provide fully integrated care for all our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers.

Responsibilities Provide Exceptional Customer Service : Answer incoming calls with professionalism and compassion, ensuring a supportive experience for consumers and potential consumers.

Screen and Register Clients : Gather essential demographic information and perform clinical screenings to facilitate access to services.

Coordinate Appointments : Schedule and provide details for initial and follow-up appointments, ensuring consumers know what to expect.

Verify Benefits : Utilize web-based applications to confirm insurance coverage and document accordingly. Contribute to Quality Improvement : Participate in data gathering and support program development initiatives.

Promote Recovery-Oriented Practices : Champion trauma-informed care principles in every interaction.Qualifications Education : High school diploma or GED with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.

g., social work, psychology) with 2 years of clinical experience, or a Master’s degree in a helping profession. Skills : Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities;

experience with data entry and electronic health records is preferred. Experience : Background in admissions, scheduling, or screening in mental health or human services is essential.
