Assistant Professor, Political Science

Jacksonville State University is accepting applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Political Science in the Department of Sociology and Political Science. The start date is Fall of 2026. This is a full-time, tenure-track position with a primary teaching focus, carrying a 4 / 4 teaching load. The successful candidate will have a background in Public Law and American government, with a strong foundation in law and legal studies.

Required Qualifications :

• Ph.D. in Political Science or closely related field, from an accredited university by the proposed start date.
• Candidates first field of study should be either Public Law or American Governmentwith the ability to teach law and legal studies at the undergraduate-level.
• College level teaching experience.
• Willingness to teach in traditional, hybrid, and online modalities.
