Requirements / Qualifications
Licenses / Certificates / Registrations Required : - Must have a valid California driver’s license and have (and maintain) an insurable driving record acceptable to the District’s insurance carrier.
Possession of required California Commission on P.O.S.T. training certificate (Basic Police Academy or Reserve Module A Level III Academy, Module B Level II Academy);
or possession of a valid California Commission on P.O.S.T. Basic Course Police Academy waiver.
Qualifications : - High school graduate or equivalent.- Some college level training in political science, criminal justice or a related field is desirable.
- Must be at least 20 ½ years of age at the time of application. Eligibility Requirements : - Standard Psychiatric Evaluation.
- Comprehensive background investigation POST.- Medical examination / drug screening.- Citizen or permanent resident alien who is eligible and has applied for citizenship.
