Job Description

This is a part-time, temporary / seasonal position. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis to establish an applicant pool.

As vacancies occur, they are filled from the pool.

The employment / experience section on this application must be completely filled out AND / OR a resume must be attached.

Applications which do not have either the education / experience section completed OR a resume attached will not be considered.

This position is subject to a criminal history check and pre-employment drug test. Upon hire, the selected candidate must appear for in-person on-boarding at the Carson City or Fallon campus.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Training, experience or knowledge in the field of commercial driving customarily acquired by a course of specialized intellectual instruction, studies or experience
• Must be a certified CDL examiner through the Nevada DMV and maintain this certification throughout the term of their employment
• Must have a valid CDL Class A driver's license issued by the state of Nevada
• Must have basic computer capabilities and know how to navigate a web browser

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Test WNC CDL students on the three components of the DMV exam (pre-trip inspection, yard skills, and road driving), in alignment with all DMV requirements
• Conduct tests in an equitable and ethical manner with safety as the top priority
• Maintain proper documentation of all exams performed
• Supervision received will be minimal; incumbent will need to exercise independent judgment in determining whether or not students have met the requirements of each portion of the exam
