Job Summary :

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of automotive Body-in-White systems, including design, development and release processes, as well as stamping and joining technologies.

Requirements :

  • Must have engineering experience with stamped steel and / or aluminum Body-in-White applications.
  • Must possess a deep understanding of manufacturing feasibility / design for manufacturing & assembly, including stamping and joining processes.
  • Must have a strong background in application of GD&T for complex assemblies and / or systems.
  • Experienced with managing engineering changes for complex projects, including BOM management and effective communication of the scope, risk and impact of proposed changes.
  • Must have understanding of CAD and FEA activities.
  • Must have experience with leading, planning, and tracking engineering activities including risk assessment, budgetary performance, and program timing.
  • Must be able to work in a cross-functional environment including continuous communication with manufacturing and customers.
  • Must have experience with identifying opportunities for improvements in engineering practices to obtain increased operational efficiencies.
  • Must have experience working in a PLM environment or must be adaptable to work in any PLM on the daily management of CAD and ECR’s
  • Must be willing to understand the manufacturing process of the complex assemblies by interacting with the manufacturing facility
  • Must be willing to interact with the OEM’s and conduct weekly meetings and report to management on the progress

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or Industrial Engineering and 5-10 years related experience in automotive design and manufacturing.
