Overview
Airport Radio Support Administrator II role at Salt Lake City Corporation. Under the guidance of the Network Support Team Manager, coordinates and completes tasks pertaining to supporting customers that use City computer, phone, and data network resources. This includes planning, coordinating, installing, configuring and maintaining networked desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, phones, data equipment, and software for City departments. Responsibilities also include providing onsite technical support at off-site buildings, working with the Software Support Team and the Software Engineering Team regarding software and application issues, and mentoring and training Network Support Team I Administrators.

Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support for critical airport communication systems, including radios, voice and data networks, and related hardware and software.
- Assist with system implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades while ensuring network security and licensing compliance.
- Support end users, coordinate with vendors, and maintain key infrastructure to keep mission-critical airport and public safety operations running smoothly.
- Coordinate with the Software Support Team, Software Engineering Team, and Network System Engineer Team on software issues, network connectivity, throughput, and LAN performance.
- Mentor and train Network Support Team I Administrators.
- Provide onsite technical support at off-site buildings and assist with vendor coordination as the primary contact for hardware and / or software vendors when applicable.
Typical Duties
Assist with product implementation and / or upgrades with the Software Support Team and / or Software Engineering Team.Coordinate technology needs and solutions for City departments, particularly at off-site buildings.Develop and maintain City-wide security on the network and for remote users, including evaluating and installing software components for a secure operating environment.Maintain licensing requirements and ensure software integrity for all LAN software.Document essential technical processes and procedures to ensure repeatable workflows.Assist with network backup and restore processes.Maintain an inventory of boards, connectors, and related replacement parts for the phone and data systems.Coordinate with the Network System Engineer Team to provide and maintain communications between multiple protocols (e.g., TCP / IP).Assist in the audio / digital video production phase of SLCTV.Analyze functionality of voice and data communication and network equipment, including configuring and repairing telephone services, VoIP, and voicemail PBX systems.Create, configure, and maintain scripts and software automation (VBScript, AutoIt, AutoHotkey, batch files, Bash).Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and four years experience in supporting PCs and LAN administration, or equivalent experience.Possession of one or more certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, CompTIA stack) as required by position.Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, topologies, protocols, and PC hardware, peripherals, operating systems, and network operating systems.Knowledge of data communications principles and related equipment.Clear verbal and written communication skills.Desired Qualifications
Experience in an airport or 9-1-1 dispatch center environment with computer, radio, and related equipment experience.Experience with programming, maintaining and repairing mobile radios; Motorola radios experience is a plus.Understanding of RF, spectrum fundamentals, microwave backhaul and antenna theory; FCC General Radio Operators License desirable.Awareness of emerging communications technologies.Ability to troubleshoot high-level control issues remotely and read schematics.Factory certification from Motorola or L3H on trunking radio systems desirable.Strong communication, organizational, and people skills; ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.Willingness to work in extreme environments and odd hours to keep critical systems operational.Experience with cable management, system lifecycle, infrastructure documentation, and asset buyoff procedures.Experience with other airport systems (e.g., Public Safety DAS, Automated Weather Observation Systems) is a plus.Working Conditions
