We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in the building maintenance industry in New York, New York, United States.
The candidate will be expected to assist in payroll operations for union employees weekly and should be keen to learn all aspects of payroll.
Strong MS Excel skills are highly desired.
Responsibilities :
- Assist in the processing of weekly payroll for union employees
- Maintain and update payroll records accurately
- Resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees promptly
- Monitor payroll operations and suggest improvements when necessary
- Utilize Paycom and Microsoft Excel in daily operations
- Work closely with the HR team to ensure accurate employee timesheets
- Contribute to the understanding and adherence to payroll laws and regulations
- Assist in the training of employees on timesheet completion and submission
- Support the team in any other payroll-related tasks as required.
- Proven experience in handling payroll for over 500 employees
- Proficiency in managing multi-state payroll
- Experience with payroll for unionized employees
- Ability to accurately manage and process employee timesheets
- Proficiency in using Paycom payroll software
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
- Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations
- Experience in payroll report preparation and payroll tax filings
- Ability to handle payroll queries from employees and resolve them efficiently
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
