Job Title : Accounting Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to provide administrative support and assist with basic financial tasks. This role is primarily administrative, with accounting responsibilities introduced over time based on experience and comfort level. It offers a great opportunity for growth into an accounting role while contributing to the smooth operation of a busy office.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, greet visitors, and manage incoming / outgoing mail.
• Organize and maintain physical and digital files, including delivery tickets, contracts, and internal forms.
• Assist with meeting scheduling, calendar management, and internal communications.
• Monitor and order office supplies; coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Input operational and administrative data into internal systems with accuracy.
• Assist with job tracking, project documentation, and internal reporting.
• Gradually assist with invoice processing and payment tracking.
• Help maintain organized records for financial audits and reporting.
• Support expense documentation and reconciliation.
• Learn and assist with basic accounting software functions.

Work Environment

You will join a team of four in an office space within a family-owned business. You will work closely with the HR Manager and CFO on various tasks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicopee, Massachusetts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $31.25 / hr.
