Corporate Controller

Our client, a high-growth services and software company, is seeking a Corporate Controller. The position involves hands-on responsibility for financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and integrating future acquisitions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, revenue recognition, cash receipts and disbursements, payroll, debt compliance, and fixed assets.
• Lead and improve the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform treasury functions and manage online bank platforms.
• Provide technical accounting research on new US GAAP pronouncements and ensure compliance with external auditors.
• Coach and lead the finance team, fostering continuous improvement and growth.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
• Support annual audit and tax work, serving as the main contact with external audit and tax groups.
• Lead bi-weekly payroll processes and play a critical role in budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with lender requirements and deadlines.
• Assist in planning and executing the integration of future acquisitions.
• Lead ad-hoc financial projects as needed.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of progressive financial and accounting experience, including at least two years at a managerial level.
• Experience managing project-based revenue cycles.
• CPA preferred with thorough knowledge of US GAAP, especially related to software companies.
• Strong supervisory skills and ability to build a positive, accountability-driven team.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
• Ability to anticipate questions and provide financial leadership outside the accounting organization.

Compensation :

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure : $180K - $210K per year.
