With a focus on safety and efficiency, JRock consistently delivers top-tier results on every project.Job Overview : The Superintendent's responsibility is to supervise the field construction of a project and to complete the work on schedule, within the budget and to the quality of workmanship specified.
The Superintendent does not have authorization to engage in monetary agreements (contracts, subcontracts, change orders, work orders) In the performance of this function, it us the Superintendent's responsibility to protect and promote JRock's interests in all matters and to do whatever is reasonably necessary to discharge his duties and responsibilities which include, but are not limited, to the following : Primary Duties for Superintendent : -Provide leadership and establish effective working relationships with on-site staff, fostering a positive project morale.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the General Contract, all Subcontracts, Drawings, Specifications, and Addenda, assisting the Project Manager in developing on-site procedures.
- Examine contract documents for design deficiencies, impractical details, and potential code violations, and promptly communicate findings to the Project Manager for review with the Architect.
- Address project-related issues with architects, subcontractors, inspectors, engineers, and estimators professionally.-Work closely with the Project Manager and Scheduling Manager to ensure appropriate staffing and timely project completion.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to formulate and maintain the construction schedule, handle change orders, and address issues as they arise.
- Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors according to the critical path to ensure timely project completion.-Perform quality control duties to ensure that all work meets company standards.
- Coordinate required inspections and maintain a daily written log of job site activities.-Execute Superintendent duties across multiple job sites, ensuring subcontractors correct all deficiencies identified by the project team.
- Communicate effectively with the project team regarding ASIs, RFIs, and material submittals.-Direct the on-site Construction Safety Program and lead weekly safety meetings to promote a safe working environment.
- Ensure the job site remains clean and organized at all times, and manage the efficient completion of all punch lists.Secondary Functions : -Assist in budgeting and obtaining necessary permits or approvals for revisions.
- Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals on the job site.-Lead pre-construction meetings with each subcontractor to align on project expectations.
- Open the job site at the beginning of the day and secure it at the end of each day.-Support the hiring process by participating in interviews and candidate evaluations.
Qualifications : -Must have at least 10 years of hands-on experience in concrete construction.-Must have hands-on experience with ride-on trowels and screeds.
- Must have hands-on experience in concrete construction.-Consistent attendance and punctuality are crucial.-Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Capable of lifting up to 100 pounds and navigating various job site terrains.-Strong focus on job site health and safety standards.
- Quick response to customer needs with a solutions-oriented mindset.-Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Clear writing abilities with attention to spelling and grammar.-Team-oriented with a balance between individual and group responsibilities.
- Effective planning and prioritization skills for managing tasks.-Adaptable to changes and unexpected challenges in the work environment.
