Position Summary
Manager, Interventional Radiology is responsible for overall operations, people, financial, and planning areas for the system-wide Interventional Radiology departments across the UH system.
This individual is the direct leader for technicians throughout the system and will work closely with system, entity and nursing leaders to directly ensure quality and safe patient care, maintain compliance / regulatory standards, optimize and standardize asset management, and drive financial and operational performance.
Essential Functions
- This position is responsible for planning, developing and maintaining the operations of system-wide Interventional Radiology, directly supporting all aspects of operations.
- Demonstrates transformational leadership and effective management with focus on human resources including staff development and engagement of technicians and develop dotted line relationships with system, entity and nursing leaders to influence change and ensure clear communication.
- Demonstrates effective management of all asset-related functions including standardization and optimization, vendor management, supply management.
- Demonstrates effective financial management to include operating and capital budget planning, growth strategies, optimization and standardization of billing processes.
- Demonstrates continuous collaboration with operations and clinical teams to standardize and optimize operational workflows based on best practice, continuous process improvement initiatives, and ensure high quality and safe patient experiences.
- Lead Quality and Safety initiatives to include standardized key performance indicators and engage in quality / safety reviews.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Lead and deliver on strategic planning and implementation of departmental goals.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Completion of an accredited program in a Radiology related health profession. (ie. ARRT, CT, MRI, Nuclear, Ultrasound, Registered Nurse) Required
Work Experience
- 3+ years Minimum of 3 years of acute care hospital experience. Required and
- 2+ years Previous leadership experience overseeing a interventional radiology within an acute care setting Required and
- 2+ years Prior experience in Interventional Radiology Required and
- 2+ years Experience in healthcare management including previous experience in quality and performance improvement activities, statistical analysis, and quality reporting around interventional radiology. Required and
- Working knowledge of quality and performance improvement, data analysis, benchmarking, and quality performance measure development. Required and
- Experience with staffing and human relations issues Required and
- Experience with operating and capital budgeting Preferred and
- Experience with Research workflows Preferred

- Excellent oral and written communication skills Required
- Ability to be proactive and work under ever changing stressful conditions Required
- PC and related software, printers, hospital mainframe, fax / copy machines, phone systems, EMR / RIS Required
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) Required or
- Completion of an accredited program in a Radiology related health profession. (. ARRT, CT, MRI, Nuclear, Ultrasound, Registered Nurse) Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
