Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
- Minimum three years progressive training experience, preferably in a health education setting with standardized and or simulated patients.
- Experience interacting with students and faculty in a post secondary setting, including larger groups of students and students under stress.
- Knowledge of specific terminology of the unit and program area. Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to interact professionally and appropriately with a wide variety of individuals, including but not limited to physicians and faculty, students, patients, standardized patients.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience training standardized patients (SPs) in physical examination and communication skills. Experience with high stakes clinical skills assessment, Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE) preferred.
- Experience working with web based learning management software.

Position Details Position Purpose Reporting directly to the Director, Clinical Skills Training and Simulation Center, the Standardized Patient EducationTrainer will act as the senior standardized patient educator for the Clinical Skills Center (CSC), located at the Troy campus of Beaumont Hospital.
The Standardized Patient Education Trainer will be responsible for training standardized patients and coordinating with other Standardized Patients.
The Standardized Patient EducationTrainer will also review for quality assurance SP training, SP training materials, and SP performance.
In consultation with the Assistant Director, Clinical Skills Training and Simulation Center, the Standardized Patient EducationTrainer will assist with recruitment and screening of new SPs, and scheduling and payroll of current SPs.
Other related duties as assigned.
