Product Development Specialist (ON-SITE)

We are growing and looking to hire a Product Development Specialist to join our team. This position takes a data / analytical approach to identify opportunities for growth and new products.

The ideal candidate will be technical by nature, understanding how products are designed and manufactured, as well as the ability to pass this knowledge on to others.

This person will need to be exceptionally organized, extremely detail oriented with the experience necessary to bring products to market.

Responsibilities

• Perform a competitive market review to help identify new markets and product segment opportunities.
• Use data-driven tools / resources available to identify sources for new products to evaluate potential to add said products to our line.
• Identify possible new product opportunities and perform competitive product reviews to determine product viability.
• Work with Internal Departments to obtain necessary information about products, manufacturing, or markets for detailed analysis helping to identify new or emerging markets and potential product opportunities.
• Review Product websites looking for data on top sellers and noting these items for potential product review.
• Create market share data through detailed sales analysis.
• Visit current customers to discuss new product ideas.
• Review current successful Jonard product lines to see how these lines can be expanded. Identify product lines with growth opportunity to pursue.
• Working with Senior Director of Engineering you will bring various product from idea to market. This is done using the following
• Apply the new product development process to bring product from feasibility, through development, trial, and up to launch.
• Conduct trial and error design plans to identify solutions and developments.
• Perform engineering analysis and field research to define design requirements for new products.
• Develop test plans for benchmark evaluation of competitive products, qualification of new or proposed products, as well as ongoing product improvement utilizing proposed processes or material changes.
• Attend trade shows to see industry product offerings

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates will possess bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline and have 2-5 years’ work-related experience.
• Must possess a solid understanding of new product development and new product introduction.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to facilitate complex projects and solutions and work on a project team.
• Ability to communicate and contribute with all cross functional members, staff members and outside consultants.
• Ability to work with all internal department, as well as outside vendors of finished goods and suppliers of components.
• Ability to manage tasks and mid-scale projects.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of a project team and management.
• Ability to complete activities and complete projects on time and within budget.
