The Senior Tax Manager position offers exposure to international, federal, and state and local taxes. The Senior Tax Manager will participate in the accuracy and timeliness of the tax compliance function and accounting for income taxes.
In addition, the Senior Tax Manager will assist with a variety of special tax projects, perform tax technical research, monitor legislation and coordinate audits.
Tax Provision :
Ensure that the Company’s quarterly and annual income tax provisions are timely and accurately prepared in accordance with relevant GAAP, SEC, and other authoritative guidance related to Accounting for Income Taxes.
Research relevant authoritative guidance and prepare Company position papers for discussion and review with Senior Management and external auditors.
Prepare the tax footnote, MD&A, and related tax disclosures for regulatory filings including SEC Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
Prepare supporting documentation for purchase price allocations and intangible assets, measure and update valuation allowances and Uncertain Tax Positions under ASC 740 (formerly FIN 48), and review tax impact of equity awards.
Coordinate and prepare both US and international tax-related balance sheet accounts reconciliations and analysis, including deferred tax reconciliations.
Ensure that key SOX 404 controls are appropriate, properly monitored & maintained, and effective.
Develop department policies and procedures to minimize Accounting for Income Tax risk.
Lead income tax accounting process improvement projects including provision software implementation, process flow mapping, and other process automation efforts.
Forecast both effective tax rate and cash taxes.
Tax Compliance :
Lead the U.S. federal tax compliance process including the coordination, review, and confirmation of tax return positions.
Ensure timely and accurate filings of international, federal, and state and local filings, extensions, and estimates.
Prepare and / or review Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT and foreign tax credit calculations.
Lead and / or assist with preparation of transfer pricing and country by country compliance.
Support the tax group in the design and implementation of tax planning and repatriation by providing detailed analysis, evaluations, reports, and research concerning the impact of US and local country income tax laws, regulations, rulings, and procedures, and proposed legislation.
Review / prepare the computation of the earnings and profits, basis, foreign tax credits and other tax attributes.
With the assistance of local country finance personnel, analyze local country tax returns to understand elections and adjustments that will assist in optimizing worldwide taxes.
Monitor and anticipate changes in U.S., state and non-U.S. tax laws of importance to the Company’s operations, determine the impact of those changes on the Company and recommend appropriate modifications to the Company’s procedures or operations in response to such changes.
Gather and prepare information required for various components of tax compliance.
Work with the tax, finance and accounting teams on process improvements for the compliance process.
Coordinate the computation and documentation of Company’s R&D tax credit.
Audits & Other :
Responsible for managing all examinations, developing responses to government agencies and evaluating the financial impact.
Ensure appropriate documentation and records are prepared and support the company’s tax filings.
Responsible for the development, coaching and training of direct reports.
Assist with M&A tax due diligence as needed.
Required Experience :
10+ years of corporate income tax experience.
Public company tax provision experience preferred.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience with CorpTax sotware for compliance and provision
Alteryx experience is a plus.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
