Positions : Patient Care Technician North 4 Cardiology / Telemetry Unit
Location : Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines
Full Time
Shifts : Days- 8 and or 12 hour shifts
North 4 is a 23 bed nursing unit with telemetry cardiac monitoring capability for all patient beds. The nursing skill mix is 65% Registered nurse / 35% patient care technician.
The patient population on North 4 is cardiac medical. The major patient diagnoses includes : heart failure, pre / post cardiac catherization, cardiac diagnostic and intervention, myocardial infarction and medical overflow.

Responsibilities
- A PCT will perform patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN.
- Possess the ability to lift, move, position and transport patients.
- Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
- Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.
Qualifications
- Must be 16 years old or older.
- Minimum of 75 hour Certified Nursing Aid certification required. Indicate on your application which CNA certification you possess (75 hour, 120 hour or 150 hour).
