This position is responsible for leading the activities of 15+ Logistics Engineering Professionals within the Logistics Engineering Design (LE) Organization.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role
- Lead and guide teams of Logistics Engineers across several programs to develop contract deliverables within budget and schedule.
- Manage the performance of Logistics Front End Analysis (FEA) and Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), to include Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Supportability Analysis (SA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Analysis to identify resources required to maintain and support the design.
Experience with COMPASS software required.
- Manage the review of drawings, Change Requests (CR), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), computer models and other technical documentation to identify maintenance and supply support requirements for designs.
- Manage the development of operator source data in support of ILS product development.
- Direct the assessment of emerging designs for requirements compliance and recommend design alternatives to enhance supportability and maintainability.
- Provide technical and strategic guidance, and mentor logistics Engineering staff regarding all aspects to Design for Supportability and Log Product development.
- Support and teach the development, input, update of LSAR / LMI data requirements in accordance with GEIA-STD-0007 and MIL-STD-1388-2B.
- Develop BOEs, project plans, budgets, forecasts, and schedule of Logistics Engineering scope.
- Interface with Integrated Logistics Support staff and Engineering to ensure adequate funding and support for Logistics Engineering programs.
- Work with ILS Management, Test, Logistics, and Engineering groups to plan and execute engineering and logistics programs per customer requirements.
- Assess and report Earned Value status for each assigned activity.
- Review manpower planning data to ensure accuracy of and meet staffing requirements for Logistics Engineering.
- Work with RAM / S Engineering Manager to establish department goals and objectives necessary achieve division and directorate goals and objectives.
- Assign department goals and objectives to direct reports.
- Continuously develop department employees, and identify / develop successors.
- Establish and maintain high customer and user satisfaction.
- Submit and support execution of IRAD and Capital Requests for Logistics Engineering.
- Review and approve all program and overhead expense reports.
- Manage department processes, procedures, guidelines, and metrics. Continuously improve and update as needed.
- Perform administrative duties to include, but are not limited to : performance appraisals, tracking labor reporting, time card approvals, preparing and presenting status reports, recommending and obtaining funding for training, attending and conducting staff meetings.
- Clearly communicate expectations to LE staff.
- Actively seek and listen to input from LE staff.
- Responsible for setting section priorities and providing guidance to direct reports.
- Represent RAM / S Engineering Manager, and act as Manager's delegate when requested.
Qualifications Sought
- 10+ years engineering / defense experience, including 5 years in a Supportability related field.
- Bachelor Degree in engineering discipline.
- Army or Marine military experience highly desirable.
- Hands on experience in the operation and maintenance of ground combat vehicles highly desirable.
- Must be a pro-active leader, with demonstrated technical leadership experience overseeing complex projects.
- Must have a strong working knowledge and experience with Systems Engineering.
- Maintainability, Supportability, Logistics Engineering, LMI / LSAR, and Technical Manual development.
- Must possess working knowledge in the areas of Reliability, Maintenance Engineering, Training, Technical Publications, Val / Ver, and Integrated Logistics Support.
- Must have knowledge of US Government acquisition procedures and processes.
- Must have experience conducting Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) and Supportability Analysis (SA), to include Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis.
- Experience with COMPASS software required.
- Experience with LMI / LSAR software required.
- Experience with EVMS required.
- Thorough working knowledge of US Army Logistics support structure, policies, and procedures.
- Must possess good supervisory skills and strong communication skills essential for making presentations and briefings to internal and external customers as well as to senior staff.
- Must possess knowledge of IPS, CMMI, and ISO9000 processes, and be experienced with problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills essential for interacting with Government and GDLS personnel with varying backgrounds and missions as well as for facilitating process implementation and improvement.
- Must be able to work overtime periodically as required, including weekends and holidays as schedule dictates.

- Must be able to travel as required.
- Must be able to qualify for a secret clearance.
