The Global Compliance Counsel reports to the Global Compliance & Ethics Officer & Deputy General Counsel ( GCEO ) and is responsible for supporting the GCEO on executing on the strategic direction and daily operation of the compliance and ethics program for Daniel J.
Edelman Holdings, Inc. and all its family of companies globally.
Responsibilities
- In partnership with the GCEO, assess compliance and ethics risk and execute strategic direction and priorities as set out by the GCEO.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including operations, finance, HR, legal, talent development and IT, to implement and monitor key compliance program requirements throughout the organization.
- Serve as a resource to stakeholders across the organization for advising on how our compliance policies and procedures should be applied to specific issues and situations.
- Maintain documentation of the DJEH Code of Conduct and all other global compliance policies and procedures to address identified key compliance risks.
- Evaluate and provide support in mitigating third-party compliance risk, including those related to affiliates, vendors and clients via compliance related due diligence, 3rd party codes of conduct, mandatory contractual provisions, etc.
- Serve as a resource to stakeholders across the organization for responding to RFI / RFP questionnaires, customer questionnaires and review of compliance contractual provisions.
- Work collaboratively with GCEO and Global Compliance Coordinator on regulatory reporting requirements, including those related to the Foreign Agents Registration Act and executing any registration forms or other regulatory documents when the GCEO is unavailable.
- Undertake other key projects as determined by the GCEO and Office of the General Counsel.
Basic Qualifications
- Juris doctor
- At least 8-12 years of experience in a compliance or legal-related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current or in process compliance certification preferred.
- Strong verbal communication skills and strong writing skills
- Language skills must include proficiency in English
- A willingness to travel
$122,000 - $210,000 a yearAn employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
