PAY RANGE : $75,000 - $85,000 Annually

The mission of the Food Bank is to mobilize resources to fight hunger in our community. To fulfill our mission, we source and acquire nutritious food and other products and distribute them to people experiencing nutrition insecurity through our partner agency network and directly through programs;

energize the community to get involved and support hunger relief; and conduct hunger and nutrition education and awareness campaigns and advocate for public policies that benefit the people we serve.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The position of Programs Manager will be responsible for implementing the Food Bank's programs by overseeing Program Specialists and Outreach Workers and ensuring compliance or grant requirements.

Facilitates outreach and / or delivery efforts and manages a team of up to ten (10) Program Specialists and / or Outreach Workers.

Reports directly to and receives supervision from the Programs Director.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Food Program Manager : Manages food delivery programs, such as after-school snack and hot supper programs, ensuring compliance with program requirements and safety regulations.

Advocates for policies and initiatives aimed at addressing hunger, poverty, and food insecurity, staying informed about relevant

Program Manager : Manages various programs and initiatives within a nonprofit organization, overseeing staff, monitoring performance, and ensuring program goals are met.

Coordinates logistics and operations related to food distribution and program implementation, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.

Program Coordinating : Oversees the implementation and management of specific programs, ensuring effective communication between stakeholders and adherence to program requirements.

Responsible for coordinating outreach efforts to various community groups, organizations, and individuals to promote awareness of programs and services.

Nutrition Outreach Specialist : Focuses on outreach efforts related to nutrition programs such as Cal Fresh, CSFP, and nutrition education initiatives, collaborating with government agencies, food banks, and local school districts.

Works with volunteers to ensure their safety, provide program orientation, and facilitate their involvement in various activities and initiatives.

Social Services Liaison : Acts as a liaison between the organization and social service agencies, ensuring coordination of services and support for program participants.

Utilizes various communication channels, including social media, printed materials, and public presentations, to promote the organization's mission and programs to the community.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree with an emphasis in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related; four to five years experience with a non-profit social service organization, or a combination of experience and education.
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills are required
  • Work experience must demonstrate the ability to plan strategically and to successfully guide / execute special events such as conferences, presentations, etc.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Navision).
  • Strong analytical capabilities needed to formulate and prepare reports; strong presentation skills including networking and public speaking.
  • Superb organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Insured vehicle with valid California driver's license.
  • Valid CA Driver's License and access to a reliable and insured vehicle. Required to travel within Los Angeles County. May be scheduled to work at either facility in Los Angeles, CA, or the City of Industry, CA
  • May need to commute between Food Bank facilities in Los Angeles, CA, or the City of Industry, CA
